Details have been released on the video displays at the upcoming Lynn Family Stadium, as Louisville City FC partners with Daktronics to install eight LED displays.
Installation is currently taking place at the under-construction venue scheduled to open in 2020.
“We want Lynn Family Stadium to be a great experience for our supporters and having top-quality LED displays is crucial to the fan experience,” LouCity President Brad Estes said. “The sightlines in our new soccer-specific stadium are second to none and our Daktronics displays will enhance the game-day experience.”
The main video display features a 13HD pixel layout and measures 40 feet high by 72.5 feet wide. It is capable of variable content zoning to show one large image or multiple zones of content. It can show live video, instant replays, up-to-the-second statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
As a unique touch, two additional displays will be installed to the left and right of the main display angled toward the field. These measure 40 feet high by 14.5 feet wide and feature 16-millimeter line spacing to show supplemental information to the main display.
“We’re excited for the Boys in Purple to take the field in their new venue for the first time in 2020,” said Trent Poelker, Daktronics sales representative. “Daktronics prides itself in making every moment matter for all spectators on the biggest stages in sports, including matches at LouCity’s new home. LouCity is one of the most successful clubs in American soccer and we’re honored to be a part of their new home.”
On the backside of the main display, a rear-facing display measures 24 feet high by 49 feet wide and features 16-millimeter line spacing. Two ribbon displays measure nearly 4 feet high by 25 feet wide along the seating fascia. Surrounding the playing field, a pitch-perimeter display measuring 3 feet high by 495 feet wide and featuring 10-millimeter line spacing will be installed.
These displays allow the team to show additional content to immerse fans in the match-day experience as well as offering the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.
Capitalizing on recent sporting venue trends, LouCity is installing a 14.5-foot-high by 25-foot-wide screen in their beer garden to connect with their fans before, during and after events. The display features 6-millimeter line spacing and allows the team to show match-day related content as well as live airings of rival matches that might affect the team’s standings.
Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
