It’s been a month into the sales cycle, but so far a successful pitch for Minnesota United FC season ticket sales, as the team has hit the 8,000 mark for an inaugural 2017 season at TCF Bank Stadium.
The Minnesota United FC season ticket sales came under a unique program where the first 11,842 fans who place deposits for the 2017 season will be given seat selection priority at TCF Bank Stadium and will become memorialized in the new stadium planned for St. Paul’s Midway area. Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but there are actually 11,842 lakes — hence the basis for the unusual number for the Minnesota United FC season ticket sales effort.
“The overwhelming support we have received since officially announcing our entry into Major League Soccer has been amazing,” said Minnesota United President Nick Rogers in a press statement. “It’s hugely gratifying to be a part of bringing MLS to Minnesota. The passion from our current fans and the incredible interest from our newest fans is very rewarding for everyone throughout our organization.”
