It was a big weekend on the MLS attendance front, as teams drew 235,578 fans to 10 matches across the league.
It’s not unusual to see over 200,000 fans show up collectively to MLS matches on a given weekend, but by our reckoning this was the best-attended weekend of the season since the March 7-8 season opener, when 258,378 fans showed up to 10 matches, a total bolstered by 62,510 fans at the Citrus Bowl to see Orlando City SC’s MLS debut.
All in all, 4.83 million fans have shown up to MLS league play this season. Remember: We cover MLS attendance and pass along tallies every Monday morning here. (Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to receive reminders.) We track league attendance, but not friendlies.
