The most recently opened MLS facility, BBVA Compass Stadium is also the first MLS-exclusive stadium built in close proximity to an urban center. Indeed, BBVA is a part of an informal complex of venues and buildings, spread out across six blocks, an area that includes Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center and the George R. Brown Convention Center. It has been home to the Houston Dynamo since it opened in 2012, and succeeds the now demolished Robertson Stadium as the hub of Dynamo activity. BBVA also serves as home for the newly-formed Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League.

BBVA Compass Stadium bears a radically different design, compared to older stadiums in the league. The front façade bears a geometric design that is bright and eye-catching, especially when paired with the blue stadium sign and the vivid Dynamo orange. The interior is just as eye-catching, with the multitudinous rows of orange bleacher seats spreading along the spread of Bermuda grass. The stadium also offers a view of the Houston skyline, which reinforces the sleek urbanity of the stadium grounds.
