We have the 2020 USL Championship opening weekend slate of games in hand, as the new Louisville City home, Lynn Family Stadium, will be showcased on a national Sunday night broadcast.
In total we have nine matches on the agenda for 2020 USL Championship opening weekend,
Obviously this is a season where plenty of change is on the agenda. The season was trimmed from 34 games to 16, and teams were placed in smaller groups to minimize travel. There will be a few games where fans are not allowed–for instance, it’s not clear whether fans will be allowed into Al Lang Stadium for the Tampa Bay Rowdies opener, and no fans will be at the Phoenix Rising FC opener–but there are plenty of other venues where fans will be allowed on hand after the approval of local officials, subject to social distancing. On the other hand, the Real Monarchs opener at Rio Tinto Stadium (capacity: 20,700) in Sandy, Utah will be opened for up to 5,300 fans (with proper social distancing) after approval from state and local health authorities and the USL.
At Lynn Family Stadium, attendance for the Louisville City opener will be limited to 50 percent capacity at a stadium holding 15,304.
