New Atlanta MLS team off to strong start at box office

MLSThe new Atlanta MLS team, set to begin play in 2017, is already off to a strong start when it comes to season-ticket sales.

The team has put 5,000 Founder’s Club ticket packages on sale. As of this week, 3,175 people have joined the Founder’s Club, committing to 9,092 season tickets.

“I’m very excited about our progress,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. “In a little more than a week, we’re at more than 60 percent of the 5,000 fans who will have the opportunity to become founding members, and that’s three years before we play our first game.”

Speaking of Atlanta MLS soccer, the team released a video of how the stadium would convert to soccer. The MLS team will share a new Atlanta stadium with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, but the design calls for a more intimate experience for MLS soccer. While the video is a little conceptual in nature, it’s still pretty cool:
