Toyota Stadium has undergone several name changes over the years. Starting as the Frisco Soccer & Entertainment Complex, the stadium then held the name Pizza Hut Park from 2005 to 2012. It was briefly named FC Dallas Stadium, before becoming Toyota Stadium on September 10, 2013. Interestingly, it is one of two stadiums in the MLS to be named for Toyota; Toyota Park was the first to sign a name agreement in 2006, but Toyota Stadium predates the Park by ten months in terms of age.

Toyota Stadium management takes pride for being both a hub for MLS soccer and an example of environmental consciousness. The stadium was named the first “green” sports stadium in Texas, and has also received accolades from the Dallas Business Journal and the SportsTurf Managers Association. The stadium also hosts teams from the Frisco Independent School District. Besides the main field, the Toyota complex also has 17 soccer fields, which are used for youth and adult soccer, as well as other high school events.
