Madison Pro Soccer Launches Scarf Madison Campaign

Sports-Madison-Pro-Soccer Scarves

In a unique initiative that markets the club and benefits a local youth soccer non-profit, Madison Pro Soccer (USL D3) has launched the “Scarf Madison” campaign. The non-profit beneficiary for the “Scarf Madison” campaign is Millennium Soccer Club whose mission is to provide accessible soccer programs for children in low income families in ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Madison.

The scarves, tagged with a QR code, are all being donated to the public and will give fans the opportunity to win prizes by registering their numbered scarf online at www.madisonprosoccer.com. Fans can also take their picture with the scarves and enter the “Where in the World is Madison Pro Soccer” contest.

The light blue and red scarves (shown above) are embroidered with the club’s temporary name while the public continues to vote on names they submitted when the club was announced in May. The final four name candidates will be narrowed to two finalists at halftime of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final viewing party July 15th at Breese Stevens Field. The final club name selection will be announced in August.

The scarves bear the logo of Breese Stevens Field, the historic 1926 venue the club will call home when it kicks off the USL D3 inaugural season next spring. “This is a great way to promote the club while making gifts to thousands of Madison’s soccer fans and a tremendous charitable youth soccer program,” said Madison Pro Soccer Managing Director Peter Wilt.

Campaign partners include FOX 47 and the Madison Pro Soccer supporters group. The supporters group is assisting with scarf distribution and a scavenger hunt that launched Tuesday. As part of the distribution of thousands of scarves throughout the city, five scarves will be hidden throughout the area daily over the next three weeks. Clues will be shared through Madison Pro Soccer Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. The first person to find the location keeps the scarf as a prize. Additional scarves are being distributed to retail locations, youth soccer organizations and at public events throughout the Madison area. The scarves will also be popping up at public spaces for fans to claim and share on social media.

Prizes will also be awarded to fans in the “Where in the World is Madison Pro Soccer” contest:

Dozens of fans will receive prizes for posting photos on the Madison Pro Soccer Facebook page of their scarf in unique places. A prize of two tickets to the inaugural Madison Pro Soccer home match in 2019 will be given to fans who submit pictures at:
