The TD Place Stadium opening set for July 20 should be a memorable one, as the Ottawa Fury FC is hosting the New York Cosmos in NASL action.
The former Frank Clair Stadium has been upgraded and renovated into a 24,000-seat venue, with part of the old football stadium retained (the north stand has been renovated) and new stands installed on the south side of the venue. TD Place Stadium also features an all-new playing surface, new high tech scoreboards and in-stadium signage and services.
In many ways the old Lansdowne Park has seen it all: the playing field was originally home to Minor League Baseball teams.
