Talen Energy Stadium to Feature “Food Truck” Concessions

Philadelphia Union concessions rendering

There will be some unique fare at Philadelphia Union games this season, as food truck-inspired concessions have been added to Talen Energy Stadium

To provide some different offerings, Talen Energy Stadium is featuring newly-redesigned concession stands that are inspired by food trucks and incorporate popular local fare. One of the stands will feature The Cow and The Curd, while the other will offer food from Baby Blues BBQ.

Food trucks have proven to be a popular offering at sporting events, and Union games have been no exception, as they are often featured outside Talen Energy Stadium before matches. Bringing that concept into the stadium, which has been done by giving existing concession stands a makeover to resemble food trucks, is something that was considered by Spectra by Comcast Spectacor. More from Philly.com:

The idea was floated during a conversation between Cow & the Curd’s Rob Mitchell, who also is president of the Philly Mobile Food Association, and Linda Reche, regional vice president with Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, which manages the stadium.

“I thought it was a natural,” Reche said.

Food trucks regularly set up outside the stadium, but once a ticket-holder is inside, he or she cannot go out to purchase food.

The new stands debut on April 8, coinciding with the Union’s match against Portland.
