Nashville SC Names Court Jeske CEO

Nashville SC has announced that Court Jeske, a former MLS executive, will be the team’s first CEO.

Jeske is joining Nashville SC from his post at the MLS, where he served as vice president, international business relations for the league’s Soccer United Marketing. Nashville SC is facing some key decisions that Jeske will surely be a part of.

Firstly, Nashville SC is joining the USL in 2018 but is still without a stadium. The organization is still looking to complete its search, but there is also some attention being paid to the Nashville’s soccer scene beyond the team’s launch.

Representatives from Nashville SC have joined an organization committee that seeks to bring the MLS to town. That group, led by former state economic development official Bill Hagerty, is still in the process of developing a road map for Nashville to lure an MLS expansion franchise, and has not ruled out the possibility that Nashville SC becomes the MLS team’s affiliate.

In acknowledging the efforts of the committee, Jeske says he believes Nashville SC could play a major role. More from the Tennessean:

“What I know about this process is we have to show that we can be a soccer city to be considered,” Jeske said. “And therefore we need to do what we can at Nashville SC to support that cause.

“There’s some great examples of some other markets that have proved very successful at the USL level as a precursor to being successful with MLS,” he said. “You look at Seattle, Portland, Orlando. They all grew into MLS and that is the opportunity we have here.”

Nashville SC officially backed Hagerty’s committee in September. Given the timing of the MLS expansion process, Nashville SC would likely be established by the time the MLS arrives in town, so it could play a key role in the city’s soccer future.
