Brewery to Open Near Orlando City Stadium

Orlando City SC stadium -- July 31, 2015

Development surrounding the new Orlando City Stadium is taking shape, with a brewery being the latest amenity to join the area.

Located at Church Street and Parramore Avenue in downtown Orlando, the stadium is set to open next year for both the MLS’ Orlando City FC and the NWSL’s Orlando Pride. Some development has already been planned in the neighborhood surrounding the stadium, including a brewery called Tubbs Brewing.

Tubbs Brewing is expected to open in a warehouse that is located across Central Avenue from the stadium. Along with eventually moving production to the site, Tubbs Brewing would look to install an outdoor beer garden while renovating the building’s exterior.

Changes to the property are still pending the approval of Orlando’s appearance review board. However, if it does go through, it will be the latest bar/restaurant option that surrounds the stadium. More from the Orlando Sentinel:

It would be the second brewery to open in the Parramore District and join a growing number of businesses to set up shop there with the upcoming Orlando City soccer stadium.

Broken Strings/Black Cauldron Breweries opened on Church Street in June.

The Orlando City club is also opening a soccer-themed pub in the Church Street entertainment district called Lion’s Pride.

Downtown, another brewery is planned at North Orange Avenue and Jefferson Street, in the building that recently was home to a Fiat auto dealership. Pan American Brewing and Pizza Co. does not have an opening date yet.

The Orlando City stadium has been touted as a potential development catalyst for the Parramore neighborhood, with the intention being to make the stadium one of the keys to mixed-use development in the area. Such goals will take years to assess, but early signs show that the stadium will attract its share of pre- and post-game entertainment options.
